“Research-based approaches to CPD” was the title of Rob Coe and Beth Greville-Giddings’ session on Thursday 20th June 2019. The session formed part of the Chartered College of Teaching strand at the Wellington Festival of Education.

What does the evidence around professional learning tell us? What CPD approaches are the ‘best bets’ for actually making a difference to student learning? What are the challenges and pitfalls that schools encounter in developing effective CPD?

In his part of the session, Rob suggests how schools can take an evidence-based approach to CPD in order that it actually has an impact on learning.
