Evidence Based Education is excited to announce our partnership with the North East Combined Authority to deliver the “Excellence in Education Programme” to schools across the region.

The partnership will support a selection of schools across the North East Combined Authority, which will have access to the Great Teaching Toolkit to support teachers in their professional development, along with support from their local authority and Education Advisors from EBE.

Andrew Garrad, Senior Programme Manager (Education Improvement), of the North East Combined Authority, said this about the partnership:

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Evidence Based Education to offer fully funded access to the Great Teaching Toolkit for schools across the region, as part of the North East CA’s Excellence in Education Programme. Supporting teacher well-being and professional development is a key priority of the programme, and the Great Teaching Toolkit provides high-quality development opportunities and meaningful feedback to enhance classroom practice. Ultimately, this supports our shared goal of improving outcomes for students across the North East.”

Jane Kennedy, Lead Advisor of Professional Learning for Education Durham, has been working with Evidence Based Education since 2022 on various projects supporting schools across County Durham. Speaking about the opportunity for schools to access the Great Teaching Toolkit, Jane said:

“The beauty of the Great Teaching Toolkit is its capacity to support professional development at every level. From enabling focused decisions to be taken strategic level to allowing for the essential component of automaticity for each individual, the Great Teaching Toolkit has it all. It provides a framework for shared understanding and a consistency of approach that is so critical in building a culture of improvement, whilst providing a myriad of pathways and resources to ensure every teacher is scaffolded and supported to make the most of the professional learning opportunities it provides. The most recent additions around the feedback tools and development cycles just take it up another level again.”
