Research Support
When you have good baseline information, or high-quality research evidence, available to you, what do you do next to make sure your decisions are the best possible ones for your pupils?
We create and deliver bespoke training programmes for individual schools, alliances and groups, which provide the knowledge, skills and tools to use research evidence and evaluation techniques to make better-informed decisions. The aim is improved teaching and learning, and thus better pupil outcomes.
When conducting any intervention - from a small-scale classroom trial to a national rollout of a new teaching plan - it's vitally important to know the answer to the question: "Did it work?"
Having conducted evaluations on behalf of the Department for Education, co-authored the EEF's DIY Evaluation Guide, and written the Evaluation Standards for the UK's College of Policing, we are equipped to help - from the most basic evaluation training, to a full-scale Randomised Controlled Trial.
While our website details a wide range of the work that we do on a day-to-day basis, it's impossible to cover every single base!
We've helped in the design of online learning programmes, devised assessments for the Chartered College of Teaching, and much more! So If your project doesn't quite fit into any of the categories you've seen so far, but you like the idea of working with us and think we have the expertise...
  • Evidence Based Education was an indispensable part of our project team, be it supporting school leaders to undertake ‘best bet’ interventions, or helping teachers improve their pedagogy and impact by accessing the best of educational research. With a breadth of expertise in educational research, ‘best bet’ interventions, assessment and evaluation, EBE is an ideal candidate to support school improvement, and one which I would unreservedly recommend to you.

Other training and support

Quality assessment practice is a tool for learning. From more reliable assessment information can come better decisions, more refined judgements, and better outcomes.

Our Assessment Lead Programme, and the in-person and residential training options are perfect for schools and colleges wanting to improve assessment practice across a whole body of staff – ALP has been cited as the “best CPD we’ve ever had”, according to one of our participants.

If you’re looking for a less intensive programme of CPD, more geared towards developing an individual’s practice, our Assessment Essentials is launching in January 2019. Find out more using the button below.

CEM Data

We provide cost-effective, sustainable training for your whole staff on CEM assessments (eg. InCAS, MidYIS and ALIS) and their data.

By using CEM assessments, you already have robust, world-class data in the palm of your hand. But how do you know that you’re using it to its full potential? Enjoy cost-effective, responsive and flexible training through our blended support packages; have us deliver an in-school training session; or come to our workshops, to harness the full power of the data.
