EBE honoured to achieve second King’s Award for Enterprise

Evidence Based Education is honoured to be one of 252 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in the 2024 Awards.

Announced today (Monday 6 May), EBE has been recognised for its excellence in innovation, following a previous success in the 2019 Awards (then The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise).

Founded in 2015, EBE employs 19 people and offers innovative teacher professional development and school improvement tools through its Great Teaching Toolkit. Our mission is to help every teacher become even greater, and the award cites the innovative tools developed to deliver high-quality, objective feedback to teachers, in a way that guides and supports their classroom practice.

More than 20,000 teachers are using the platform for their professional development, and the award follows recently announced partnerships with the National Institute of Teaching, the Chartered College of Teaching and the UAE-based Emirates Schools Establishment.

Managing Director and co-founder, Jack Deverson MBE, said:

It’s an incredible honour for EBE to receive an Innovation Award for the second time. It’s testament to the whole team and their work, to keep pushing the boundaries and to deliver cutting-edge tools and services that are so valued by the teachers we serve.

For me, I feel lucky to be able to work with this group of people every day. It is an inspiring team to be part of, and to be doing such meaningful work with schools is a key driver for us—it pushes us to keep on innovating and testing what’s possible.

We’re delighted to support so many teachers around the UK and internationally, from our office in Sunderland, and what’s even more exciting is that this is still very early days in our growth journey—there’s a lot more to come yet!”

The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed last year to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s by recognising outstanding UK businesses.

The Award programme, now in its 58th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country, with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.

Applications for King’s Awards for Enterprise 2025 open on 6th May 2024. For more information, visit https://www.gov.uk/kings-awards-for-enterprise.
