Work with EBE: Teaching and Learning Advisor

EBE is looking for a Teaching and Learning Advisor to join our Great Teaching Toolkit team. The role will involve ensuring every GTT member school has a good experience, from the moment they join, through to their renewal and beyond. There will also be opportunities to travel and deliver talks and sessions, if desired, as well as to write content based on the Model for Great Teaching and the experiences of GTT member schools.

We are ideally looking for someone who can work full-time and is north-east-based, but several of our team are either part-time, or hybrid/remote; as such, we would welcome those who would need alternative working arrangements. Either send in an application, or please contact us on jobs@evidencebased.education if you have any questions!

Who are we?

We are a small but growing team of 19 staff, mostly based in the north-east of England, whose mission is to help schools, colleges and teachers improve the quality of teaching and learning in classrooms around the world.

What is the GTT?

Our Great Teaching Toolkit (GTT) is an online platform designed to provide a scalable solution for schools seeking to provide evidence-based Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for their staff. It includes a suite of courses, more than 500 teaching resources, student and video feedback tools, underpinned by a model for teachers getting better, together.

Released in September 2021, the GTT is already used by more than 14,000 teachers in the UK and around the world, as well as more than 5,000 Early Career Teachers and Mentors, through a partnership with the National Institute of Teaching. We’re looking to continue to develop and improve what it offers, ultimately to reach even more schools and colleges, teachers and students.

The role

This role is a varied one, which involves working closely with coordinators and teachers within our member schools, at all stages of their membership. It is about ensuring every school has a good experience with the Great Teaching Toolkit, and sees as much value from the GTT as possible. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Onboarding and support for the in-school coordinator in planning successful implementation.
  • Monitoring usage and providing nudges and prompts to engage with helpful tools and resources.
  • Engaging in regular contact (both email and calls) to support our Great Teachers.
  • Working with users to drive improvements to the experience within the GTT platform, and signposting new features and resources when they are added.
  • Creating content (blogs, podcasts, videos, marketing materials) based on the Model for Great Teaching, and the experiences of GTT member schools.
  • Delivering talks, presentations and sessions with current and prospective member schools (with opportunities for travel and visiting schools).

We don’t expect that the right person will necessarily be an expert in all of these things immediately – however, a willingness to learn and develop new skills, and an enjoyment in a varied workplace and job are key to the success of every EBEster.
